Ocean Front Home on the New Jersey Shore Selects Spray Foam Insulation

June 1, 2007 – Bay Head, New Jersey – An ocean front home along Bay Heads’ prestigious East Avenue undergoes major renovation using “The Best Insulation Money Can Buy.TM”
National Spray Foam Contractors and Cole Drucquer Custom Carpentry, Inc. installed the construction industry’s most innovative and highest quality insulation - called Spray Polyurethane Foam. It is 100% safe, environmentally friendly, and performs better than any other insulation and air barrier material on the market.
Spray foam insulation is superior at stopping air leakage, both into, and out of, your home or building. It is sprayed into place as a liquid. Then it expands upwards of 30-60 times its liquid state – thus sealing off every nook and cranny for air and moisture to enter or escape. Not only does spray foam insulation have the highest R-value available, it has been proven to save upwards of 30-50% of your energy bills – every month!
Cole Drucquer Custom Carpentry Inc. and the homeowner carefully selected 2lb closed-cell spray foam for the job due to its superior strength, insulation and air sealing capabilities.
SprayFoam.com, the Internet’s leading information resource and supplier/contractor directory was on hand to cover the exciting project. In an interview with the builder, Cole Drucquer told us that, “With this large home right on the beach facing tough North Easterly weather cycles on a regular basis, we needed an insulation system that would perform well along the coast. We contacted Augie Schumatti at Insultight’s National Spray Foam Installer Network who told them all about the benefits of open and closed closed-cell 2lb density foam.”
“It was amazing to feel the difference inside the home once they finished spraying the foam. We could no longer hear the annoying road noise from the busy tourist heavy highway nearby, claimed Drucquer.
Cole also noted, “This is a very high profile job for us in a high profile area. We are also very impressed when Insultight told us that closed-cell spray foam is one of the few FEMA recognized and endorsed insulation materials for coastal building.”
Drucquer’s company brought in Digital Intent to film the job to show all of their other customers just what this remarkable material can do. “We anticipate it will not be long before spray foam becomes the standard in home insulation. With the new building codes recognizing the superior energy savings and efficiency of un-vented attic spaces, we are ready to go with implementing this new building science in many more of our residential construction projects,” he further added.
National Spray Foam Contractors installed the spray foam insulation supplied by LaPolla Industries, Inc. Houston, TX. The job was specified for spray foam to be used in all of the walls, attic space, and crawl space of the home to completely seal it from the elements. National’s crew was in and out in just a few days with everything completed and ready for sheet rocking and coded thermal barriers.
The spray foam insulation project on East Avenue was such a success, that during a follow-up discussion with the builder a few days ago, he had already seen and felt the difference of using spray foam vs. old technology, traditional fiberglass insulation. Cole mentioned that he was doing some work in the house during a North Easterly storm that recently passed the New Jersey Coast. “The wind was howling, blowing 35 mph plus out of the Nor’ East, outside it was nasty, but inside you couldn’t feel or hear a thing. This stuff really works and was worth the higher price, and I can’t wait to see what the energy savings are.”
